The bass leader board hasn't moved in a while. Norm is still holding first with his almost 40 pounder!

Cape Cod Bay has finally started to produce some nice size bass again. Some of our customers have been fishing the race with tube 'n worm/bunker spoons. They reported that the bass have some weight to them if you get down past the larger bluefish. Matt that works on the Helen-H was fishing at the race this week and picked up a 14lb bluefish. The bass have started to move back in toward Sandy Neck side too. Fishermen have been bunker spooning at the fingers during the day to get some nice keepers. Some of the commercial fishermen have been using live eels at night to max out their limit, at an undisclosed location!!!! One of our customers had over 30 keepers the other night and the largest fish was 35 lbs. He said that most of the fish he had caught were between 19lbs and 28lbs.

The south side of the cape is still producing large number of bluefish. Try the test tower to get into some of the larger bluefish 5-9lbs. Otherwise, right out of many of the harbors there has been a ton of smaller bluefish 3-5lbs.

Bass fishing on the south side of the cape has started to pick up again due to the cooler water temps. The past week we have had some cooler weather that dropped the water temps. Monomoy has become active once again with fishermen catching keepers. The deeper water off of Bearses Shoal using tube'n worm, casting slug-gos, and trolling umbrella rigs have been successful. Miacomet Rip has produced some nice bass if you feel up for the trip.

The funny fish have been spotty and the anglers that are catching them have not said much. A few of my friends were out Thursday morning and said they got into some Bonito at Hedge Fence. Try checking out Bonito Bar, we had one report of a guy trolling fast tracks in order to get the bonito.

Shore anglers have been doing well off the south side beaches. A customer was fishing off of south cape beach last Tuesday night and caught three bass (26in, 29in, 32in). Loads of scup using sea-worms or squid. Schoolie bass early morning and blues in the evening. The snapper blues have arrived in the harbors and are a lot of fun to catch using the snapper poppers.

The tuna bite has been great out at the BC. One of our rod distributors was out this week at the BC and had 3 tuna to the boat, 8 hits in all, before 10:30 a.m. We haven't heard of much action in the bay for tuna this week.

Freshwater fishing has still been going strong! The largemouth bite has been very active. Powerbait has been the best way in order to catch the trout bite at Hamblin's!

Get out on the water and catch some fish!
